Happy July 4th

Happy July 4th Weekend everyone. We are off with friends to our cabin in the Pecos Wilderness. Hubby grew up going to this log cabin his father built with several friends back in the 1950s. It is my idea of camping--indoor plumbing, a stove, refrigerator, a fireplace and a cozy bed. And nature is right outside the front door. The cabin has a lovely porch looking out on the tall pine and aspen trees. After a day of hiking, we kick back with a glass of wine, I pull out the guitar, we sing a bit, have dinner, and spend the evening playing games. Sigh! How lucky are we?

Sounds lovely!

We celebrated last weekend, with the annual in-law visit. We're the halfway point for them, so we congregate here. I hope to get some writing and reading done this weekend--we'll see how that goes!

Oh, Karen, that sounds wonderful. We'll be staying home. Our daughter says she'll be in town. We may or may not see her. Probably will as she and her friends wave on their way to the lake. I'm trying to think of vegetarian dishes I could entice her with.

It sounds great. We go to Center Harbor, NH where they have a band concert then a 30 minute fireworks show. They have a barge out in Lake Winnipesaukee that they shoot them off of. Boats from all over the lake come for the show, and if you do not live on Winnipesaukee, you can drive and sit in the park around the bandstand to watch the fireworks. It is so Americana.
