I'm a little worried, I have to admit. A few years ago I started having numbness and tingling in my hands. I went thru all the neurological tests and didn't have carpal tunnel or any other neurological issue. They gave me guards to wear on my wrists and it helped. The problem went away.
It's back. Only worse. I've been seeing a chiropractor and last week I went for an acupuncture treatment. When I researched online the possible causes of this, MS was one of them. I really don't think that's what it is. I think it's nerve related from a pain in my neck between my neck and shoulder blade. But I'm worried because it's not getting better.
And one other dilemma. I have severe mucus in my throat. No traditional doc or alternative healer has been able to help me resolve this issue. It affects my singing. Big time. I am so so frustrated.
I researched this as well and found something online I've ordered. We'll see.In the meantime, I'm doing sinus rinses, saline nasal sprays, gargling with warm salt water and watching what I eat, because certain foods definitely make it worse.
Oy. I promise, I'm not letting these things get me down. I just wanted to vent a little.
Anyone else feel like venting?d It's tell the truth Tuesday, after all.

P.S. - an update - Last night I had my first night without numbness and tingling. Seems the acupuncture treatment really made a difference. Yippee!!

Things like that can be so hard, especially when no one can find the cause. I really hope someone can do something about it. Have you tried talking to someone who is into herbs? Sometimes they have things one might try.

I'm glad to hear the acupuncture has helped. I can't say that I understand how that stuff works, but it's enough to know that it DOES.
I have numbness in my foot that's exacerbated by a pinched nerve in my hip. Stretching and PT helps. Also, stopping what I'm doing when it gets bad. I'm glad the acupuncture helped you.
Glad to hear you had no numbness or tingling. For the past few years, every now and then my finger tips get completely numb, at various times. Sometimes I wake up with it. My chiropractor gave me a couple of plain rubber bands to put around the top of all four fingers and thumb, and then to do a little pushing exercise with them. It really works!

My index finger will sometimes spasm and twitch for no reason. It used to happen on my left hand, now it's my right. No idea what causes it.
Oy. Glad to know I'm not alone with this kind of thing. Unfortunately, the tingling returned the next night. I'm more upset that I am losing sleep than my fingers are numb. I'm so tired. to be continued...

I wouldn't worry too much about it being MS just yet, because there are a lot more symptoms you would be experiencing if you had it- like continually falling down, serious memory loss, tingling that feels like an uncontrollable itch under your skin, massive head aches and extreme dibilitating fatigue. An MRI to check for lesions on your brain would be ordered, and that would tell you for sure, straight away.
I am glad you were able to get some relief from the acupuncture treatment. I would keep it up and an eye on those symptoms. Praying you feel better soon Karen, and further tests for MS won't be necessary.
